Artwork Description
The SIETENARIO sculpture, located at the Industrial University of Santander, is inspired by geometric abstraction and is composed of five metallic modules covered in stainless steel, which allow the passage of light and generate visual dynamism. The work establishes a dialogue between tradition and modernity by evoking ancestral languages present in goldsmithing, basketry and textiles, linking them with contemporary industrial processes. Its forms refer to the architectures of the Aztec, Maya, and Inca civilizations, as well as the Guane culture, exalting the continuity of artisanal crafts. With its five modules, it pays tribute to the university's five campuses and commemorates the 70th anniversary of its foundation (1948–2018).
