Biography

He is a Colombian visual artist with more than four decades of experience in contemporary painting and sculpture. His work explores memory, the transformation of matter and environmental challenges, using natural and ancestral materials such as earth, water, lime, vegetables, horsehair, bones, scales, charcoal, etc. He has participated in salons, biennials and international residencies in countries such as: Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and Italy and is the creator of the Barrio Museo San Miguel, an open-air public art project in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He currently develops large-format sculptures and installations that dialogue between ecology, history and collective memory.
