Artwork Description

Sculpture-installation in metal and plant species (Guayacán), Eye of Water establishes a dialogue between art, nature and memory. The work integrates a water fountain and a growing tree, as symbols of the water heritage and natural wealth of Colombia. The oxidized iron rings frame these elements, evoking the link between matter and territory. The inscribed text by poet Daniel Mantilla Orbegozo introduces a historical and literary dimension, connecting the work with regional cultural identity. Conceptually, Eye of Water combines aesthetic, ecological and historical values, drawing inspiration from the ancient peasant tradition of 'planting water' as a ritual act of preservation. The work thus stands as a metaphor for life, memory and the country's environmental consciousness.
